about the show

Here is an epic tale of three sisters that begins in the salubrious locales of Mt. Abu. Three sisters, Bani, Rano and Pia, after the death of their father face financial bankruptcy, emotional vacancy and a future of abysmal uncertainties. They are forced to leave the town and go and live with Jai Walia, their mother’s old friend and confidant, and a millionaire with an industrial empire of proverbial extent.

Bani, Piya and Rano three sisters live in Mount Abu with their father Nishikant Dixit. They had lost their mother seven years back and after her death Nishikant took to drinking.

The father dies taking promise from Bani that she will take care of the sisters and also protect Rano and Piya from any problem. Bani is given a letter by a family friend Dayal that their father had left for them, in which Name and Address of Jai Walia is given. Jai Walia is resident of Mumbai.. and after the demise of their father he will look after them. The sisters now have to go to Mumbai. They take shelter from Jai Walia.

Jai's sister Jigyasa and her son Ranveer hate the sisters. Jai realizes that he likes Pia. Jai proposes marriage to her despite the age barrier. The family is shocked. Pia who is already in love with Pushkar agrees for the marriage thinking that Jai Walia will give her a better life than pushkar. Things take a turn when Pia decides to elope with Pushkar. Baani is shocked to learn that Pia is not coming back. Jigyasa suggests Baani that she take Pia's place IN the wedding.Baani who IS under pressure agrees AND gets married TO jai.Jai refuses TO accept the wedding.

Masi's presence AND Baani's persuasion changes the chemistry BETWEEN Jai AND Baani.Jai starts liking Baani FOR what she IS .However life has something ELSE IN store FOR them.A dark secret FROM jai's life starts haunting him AND his ex flame Roshni threatens TO ruin his married life BY revealing TO Baani the park road secret.Jai IS doomed.He detests the thought OF losing Baani.

Someone calls Baani at park road AND intends TO reveal the truth.Jai also reaches there.Jai finds Baani there.Jai decides TO tell Baani the truth finally.Jai reveals that 7 years ago he had killed Baani's mother accidentally.Baani IS devastated. AS Baani IS leaving she faints.Jai rushes her TO the hospital TO realize that she IS pregnant.Baani decides TO leave home.Before jai can stop her he realizes that there have been SOME blasts IN the town AND Baani IS missing.

All soap lovers are well acquainted with Kasamh Se’s business tycoon and male protagonist Jai Walia. So let’s get to know Ram Kapoor, the man who plays Jai Walia

Jai Walia is the most adored older man. Are you surprised by his success?
I sure am. Jai Walia is a very strong character with a lot of charm. I knew from the beginning that if I played it well, this character would go down well with the audiences. But I had no clue that it would become so popular though. It surprises me when I am referred to as Jai Walia instead of Ram by everyone.

What do you think is the show’s USP?
I guess it’s the theme. Though it’s a woman-oriented show it is not the typical saas-bahu kind. In fact, there is no saas bahu element in it at all. The show has a young feel to it and that’s what the audiences like. And of course, there’s a lot of hard work that goes into it.

Weren’t you apprehensive about playing an older character with silver streaked hair?
None whatsoever. I simply loved the role and didn’t even take a minute to say yes. I am the kind of actor who believes in not limiting oneself to one character. A true actor should not worry about being typecast. The fear arises out of insecurity. I am confident about my talent.

How is your relationship with your on-screen wife Baani?
Oh, Prachi Desai is a lovely girl. Since she is a young girl she brings about a lot of youth and energy to the sets and the show. I am very fond of her and she is close to me too. It’s good fun working with her.

Coming from an affluent business family, how did you veer towards acting?
Well, I was studying at a boarding school in Nainital, the same one that Amitabh Bachchan had studied in. This school is famous for its theatre activities. I worked in a play with Amir Reza Hussain and simply enjoyed the experience. That was my first foray into acting. Later I even did professional theatre with him and then decided that it was acting for me. Today, I am completely committed towards acting. I am not a part of my family business in any way.

Has any other project caught your fancy?
At the moment I am completely committed to Kasamh Se and have absolutely no time for anything else. For a year at least I am not looking at any other project.

Recently you were gifted with a lovely baby girl. How does fatherhood feel?
Absolutely lovely. Siya, my daughter is now six weeks old. I can’t describe the feeling of being a father. The love and happiness comes with a feeling of responsibility.

So what’s your state of mind right now?
I am on top of the world. Professionally I have a superhit show with a well-received character. Personally, my little baby girl has completed our family. What more can a man ask for?

Episode 136 - 25 July 2006, Tuesday

Bani is at the window, reflecting on the past when Pia and Rano enter. Pia tells Bani about Rano's rasam and how much Bani means to both of them. Rano wants to be with Bani, Bani dissuades her. Rano asks Bani how would Mom react when she was scared ? Bani reflects on those moments. Bani is in a fix whether or not to forgive the person who is responsible for their mother's death while she is also in love with the same person. Jai walia calls everyone in the hosuehold and hands over business duties to Ranveer, Sahil and Rano. Sahil and Rano in midst of their phone call make Jai and Bani speak to each other. Rano asks Bani why did she not speak to Jai walia ? Bani makes her understand that it is diificult to forget the past and forgiving someone is more tough to do. Pia decides not to allow Bani and Jai to get back together. Ranveer comes to meet Jigyasa and both of them do not want to go to Pia' house. However, Anu comes in and makes Jigyasa agree to go for the ceremony. Ranveer makes Jai walia sign some important papers which Jai says he wil check later

Age 22. Jai's 1st personal assistant. she is not happy being married to Pushkar because she married him for his money and position. REcently she is trying her best to get Mr. Walia to look at her in THAT way

Sahil Walia
Age 21. Jai's fav nephew. Knows how to woo girls. Has so many girlfriends but doesn't love any of them. Very sweet and charming

Rano Dixit
Age 20. Adores her elder sister Bani. Very intelligent and very moody. she thinks that love doesn't exist in this world.

Jigyasa Walia
Jai's younger sister. He repsects her opinion but never takes it to heart. She is Aditya's ex wife and Sahil and Ranveer's mother. she hates middle class people and their mentality.

Aditya Khanna
Jai's best friend and his advisor. Jai confides all his private matters with Adi. He is Jigyasa's ex-husband and Sahil and Ranveer's father.

Ranveer Walia
Age 24. Beleive a lot in puja path and doesn't take other people's problems into his hands. (***POSITIVE CHARACTER***)

Dadi
Aditya's mom. Jai treats her like his own mom. She is very filmy.
