WOW soccerrrrrrrrrrr

the most popular game in the world.
90 minutes non stop action,no nonsense,strategies,
froamtions,transfers.

Welcome to the colourful world of soccer.

moi a Chelsea and Jose Mourinho fan.
one foot on the premiership and another on
the carling cup.
and our eyes on UCL.

chelsea is ruling the soccer arena.

Captain courageous John Terry at the back
with cool customer Frank Lampard at the midfield,
we do have a world class teams.

Guys come and shout for ur fav. team.

cheers

saurav
sjp
Chelsea team built with Roman's millions, so you have bought the carling cup, and now most probably the league as well. Unfortunately does not matter what you acheive as it will be the money that bought these trophies. The Liverpool of the 70s and 80s on a shoe string budget won the lot, the Shankly way.
hakim_hilela
well dude,
u ar wrong somewhere,
we didn't go after stars or megastars.
we just got utility players and players who ar team players.
ar we like real or Man-U who always go after stars.

take the case of lampard and Terry even Joe Cole
lampard and terry weren't stars when they first came to
stamford bridge,we groomed them.
and now we have built a good team which has
loads of team spirit.
yes team spirit
have u seen the way terry played against barca,
he is the one who we call captain

and Mourinh,he has the guts to speak out
and stand against FA or UEFA.

cheers,

saurav

Jose Mourinho is no Bill Shankly or Bob Paisely, Bob Paisely the greatest manager our country has ever seen (England), Jose will never acheive what Paisely acheived.

If you can afford to buy players for £25M they are star players, we can discuss this for ever as football is a passion and being a child supporter of the greatest club in England (Liverpool) and being born in Liverpool and brought up in central London it is hard to swallow when people open up there cheque books to buy success.

How long have you supported Chelsea?

its nice to see a die hard fan of Liverpool.
we at india really can't compete with u guys as fans or
we can't have that passion..
we were born and brought up with seeing teams like
MAN-U ,AC MILAN(1989 era).
so as i dunno i had always supported teams which were not
champions ,so from beginning i started to like teams like
chelsea,Leeds United,New Castle.
So,i am a chelsea fan for quite a long time.
as now chelsea is ruling the roost its very nice for me.
as per as liverpool goes,i have always admired that team
for its sheer talents like owen and Gerrad
but now candidly ur chances ar very slim against Juve.

cheers

We will see, as long as we do not have any injury probs we will over come juve, the whole season has been plagued by injuries. As for Chelsea a fantastic area, the girls there are lovely and the summer time its great, the Kings road has some of the sexiest women i have seen walking down it.

Next season will be the test and with or without Gerrard we will do well, you guys can have him for £35m.
rey619
I am an Arsenal supporter. << Thierry Henry >>

They have played pathetic this season when it mattered most. But they have a last chance though- FA Cup. And I hope they do play well and win.
krishna_malladi
myself,i am an ardent supporter of Manchester United....may the force be with them
masman
good to see a thread on the worlds most popular game.
i am a Zidane fan....also like Manchester United Club

The rivalry is phenomenal, but divided as a lot of the same family members support either Liverpool or Everton so its not fierce rivalry. Derby days are special and the atmosphere is fantastic, but it is always a bitter pill to swallow when one does well and the other does not, but in Liverpool’s case we have been far more successful.

I have only ever been to two derbies at Anfield but the atmosphere is electric. Our biggest rivals are MU there is pure hatred as they did in the 90’s what Liverpool did in the 70’s and 80’s, but what they cannot match is our success in Europe. Still Liverpool have won more league titles than any other English club.

Out of the London clubs, I am not sure but I assume that Arsenal and Spurs would have the largest following and they have the same derby atmosphere as the Merseyside derby but not as friendly.

The benchmark for success in British football is Liverpool. And come 2005/6 season we will once again cover lost ground and be up there with the top three, claiming what belongs to us the league title. But here is to fourth place this season and champions league football at Anfield next season.

2-1, just need a clean sheet in Turin and then the semi final beckons, either Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
rey619
Liverpool were amazing in the first half. Luis Garcia's strike was a wonder !!

Now a goalless draw can see them through. But thats not going to be easy as Juve did well against Real Madrid at home. I'd really like Liverpool to qualify for the semis. They SURE are fighters !!!

Its good to see we have a following in Mumbai, and yes they were amazing in the first half, their best performance of the season. Garcia's goal was majic, but Hypia's goal for a defender was fantastic.

Come on you reds
hakim_hilela
frankly juve's chances ar more for semis.

nedved showed what a player he is in the seocnd half.

with comranesi and zlatan juve will b a tough team to face in turin.
BTW great match yesterday.

sjp u must b a very happy man.

Over the moon, could of done without the away goal, but could not take anything away from that performance.

Lets see, we are the under dogs so we have nothing to lose, and as they say it ain't over till the fat lady sings, and she will be singing YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE, ALONE.

Well about support for Liverpool, I have seen that Liverpool has its own class.
People have their own favorite club but Liverpool is regarded among the top clubs by them.
In my case, I cheer for Arsenal , but for Liverpool theres some affection, respect and liking which comes from within. Arsenal are out but I'd like Liverpool to march ahead !!
They are true fighters.
hakim_hilela
yes ,yes yes
another biggie for the west london club.

why i am a big fan of lampard(as shown in my avatar)
was clearly explained yesterday,
he is considered as a greatest european midfielder at
the moment.

party kinda spoiled by the ballack's illegititmate
penalty.
but still good enuf lead.

well played by milan in the derby.
way2go
man utd've become a no show this year..feelsorry for them..arsenal have themselves to blame for thrwoing it away..chelasea r runnin away wid the EPL
way2go
yea, garcia's was a superstrike..& so was hypiia..but yuve have got a precious goal..& i'm surprised bayern got beaten so bad..but cmto think of it..they got two away goals..so a 2-0 shld see them thru..
rey619
BTW tonight, its Real Madrid vs Barcelona ... The top two of the Primera Liga.

Whats your prediction ? I think its gonna be a 2 - 2 draw.

well i double that.

had the match been palyed at nou camp i wud
have gone for barca, but in barnabaeu draw is looking
good.

well madrid wud very much like to win this one
bcoz they have got nothing to cheer.
but barca i think one of the most attacking
teams after chelsea or may be gunners
wud definitely like to score.

well at stamford bridge chelsea is taking
on birmingham city tonite.

in ucl i wud like put the focus on PSV eindhoven,
this team is not bad with palyers like cocu and bommel
in the midfield.
cocu is one of my favs.
and he is kind of palyer who always has
something....
in his sleeve.

cheers

saurav
hakim_hilela
baal baal bache bhai log

man-u ki tereh apni bhi khatiya khari ho jaati

if drogba hadn't scored,

well sir alex must b really very disappointed
before the next week's crucial encounter
with newcastle in the FA cup semifinal.

gunners registered their win with
pires netting in the winner.

cheers
rey619
Yup, Chelsea managed to salvage a point at home.

Arsenal scored an away win against Boro....

Man Utd losing to Norwich City ... their quest for survival... The second goal sealing the match.
Liverpool lost to Man City. So Everton have a chance to extend their lead for the crucial fourth spot.
rey619
Primera Liga>> Real Madrid got the better of Barcelona 4 - 2 at the Bernabau Stadium, thus reducing the gap to six points. << Half of my prediction was right LoL>>

EPL > Everton scored a 4-0 win over relegation threatened Crystal Palace.

Tottenham Hotspur scored a 1 -0 win over New Castle United. (Wasnt that a silly error ?)

Aston Villa drew 1 - 1 with West Bromwich Albion who are now one point clear over the relegation zone after scoring in the last minute.
hakim_hilela
well i think the team which has really
achieved somethinmg after Chelsea
is moyes's team.

man getting the 4th position in epl
is not easy,everton really deserves
a place in UCL next year

and a good win for spurs over magpies,
newcastle's performance during last few weeks
has really gone down,
its not........ a good sign
for them before the crucial
encounter against man-u.

ciao
hakim_hilela
whoooo

that's another good day for chelsea.

lampard again scoring,
2-1 up agianst bayern at olimpic
stadium for 90 mins is the stuff that not
many teams have done or dreamt off.

well defence certainly was kinda fragile,
with huth was constanly troubled
by Ze Roberto.

ricardo carvalho made some mistakes.
injury of ferrara may b a costly one.

at san siro it was really
a shame for soccer.
dida got hit by a flare.

so,now milan and chelsea
through,big task for liverpool tointe,

sjp man where ar u?
PSV has advantage.
lets what unfolds up
for us.

saurav
rey619
Chelsea 6-5 Bayern Munich aggr . The scoreline hints a lucky escape.

AC Milan through (I expected that.)

My prediction : An all English team semis.

Cant really predict AC Milan's opponent, Lyon scored most number of goals until previous rounds, PSV are at home and the excellent Cocu goal on their side.
rey619
Liverpool through after 0 - 0 draw against Juventus. All premiership semis.

PSV edging out Lyon on penalties, and they face AC Milan in the other semis.
sjp
How was that for a night of football, held one of the strongest teams in Europe for a 0-0 draw in their back yard, without Mr. Gerrard. Shall I take a punt and call the final Liverpool V AC Milan with Liverpool winning 2-1 in Istanbul. Have waited 20 years for this and now the 4th European Cup beckons.
rey619
FA Cup semifinals tomorrow and it seems Arsenal are without Thierry Henry (Groin Injury).

New Castle United play host to Manchester United on Sunday. Giggs unlikely to play and New Castle's Dyer and Bowyer out due to suspension.
rey619
Arsenal 3 - 0 Blackburn Rovers

Pires scored after a superb effort by Kolo Toure. Robin Van Persie scored twice towards the end crushing any Blackburn hopes of making a comeback and also injured himself in the process.
Arsenal's 4th final in 5 years. Hope they win this time around.
hakim_hilela
hmmm nice mouth watering fa cup
final on cards.

man-u vs arse the old rivalry
revives.
man-u wiped out newcastle 4-1

nice victory for them.
rey619
Yeah .... Ars vs Man Utd. Two of the three heavyweights of the Premiership. It would be a delight to watch them battle it out.

Tonight, its Chelsea vs Arsenal.
Chelsea will be without Arjen Robben. Arsenal could be without Freddie and Henry ! Sol Campbell could be kept out too.
hakim_hilela
good match today.
important strategic day it was for us.

man-u losing at liverpool and our draw with arsenal
has taken us 2 a comfortable position.
gunners also palyed well, esp. in the begining.
but we shud have won the match

saturday's match wud b a crucial 1 for us.
rey619
I feel draw is a fair result. Arsenal did miss easy chances esp within ten minutes from start. Chelsea took more time to get going. And the end result only helped Chelsea inch towards the title.

Everton hung on to the 1-0 lead over nine men Man Utd. The battle for survival is on ... Norwich City bt New Castle, West Brom held Spurs for a draw.

The title could be decided this weekend. ( We all know who it is). Chelsea face Fulham while Arsenal face Spurs. I feel Arsenal will prolong Chelsea one more time.
priyajit_nitr
i m a out n out liverpool fan though their european run into champions league final is good but against chelsea i doubt after being beaten twice by them in the priemership. also their mercyside neighbours Everton hav left them out of a champions league spot in the premier league .as they r relegated to 6th position in the table n though they hav been plagued by injuries this season their performance has been scratchy all through out this season
hope they improve n get the champions league gold
hakim_hilela
he he he.......
we ar 1 win away from the silverware,
if........ gunners drop a point against spurs.

title coming to stamford bridge after 50 yrs
is going to a grand affair.

dunno when robben is coming back,
uske bina epl mein we will manage

but bhai log we need him in UCl.

chalo ciao
rey619
He may get a start today. If not atleast on the bench .
priyajit_nitr
ya i like arjen robben even though i m a liverpool fan
hakim_hilela
yes, another convincing victory for us
against the cottagers.

robben played and showed what class
he is,superb build up for the second goal..

lampard again did the job,
it seems we don't need any striker to do the job.

with a weak defence........ it was a
commendable performance from
young german huth.
that boy is imporving.

another dielmna for JM that
who will paly in the next match
agianst liverpool cole or robben.

with the form cole is in,JM
cannot risk to keep cole out.

ciao

The big one this Wednesday hope you have got the beers in? it should be good one, may the best team win and go on to lift the cup for England.
rey619
Update:

Chelsea's John Terry has won the 2005 Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year Award and thus became the first Chelsea player to win it. The defender beat off competition from team-mates Frank Lampard and Petr Cech, 2004 winner Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard and Andrew Johnson.

The PFA Young Player Award went to 19-year-old Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney.

Shaka Hislop received the Special Merit Award, after his involvement with the "Show Racism The Red Card" campaign.
rey619
Well, we'll be defending the Premiership for 5 more days before Chelsea will get their second hand on it.

Arsenal defeated Spurs 1-0 in the north London Derby thanks to the goal from Jose Antonio Reyes.
rey619
AC Milan took a vital two-goal advantage in the Champions League semi-final after being challenged for long periods by PSV Eindhoven.

Score : AC Milan 2 - 0 PSV Eindhoven (FT)
hakim_hilela
yup,ac won,
but not after some late spurge by PSV.

PSV really palyed well, but i think they
lacked good strikers,
and that ac had in abundance, with the likes
of Tomasson in the bench.

park,bommel played well.
the weakes link the ac side is their
ageing defence i think can b challenged
by the speed of PSV players

Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool

Liverpool held Chelsea to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge to leave the all-Premiership Champions League semi-final hanging in the balance.

(Hey, the stage now is similar to last year .... You see Arsenal bt Chelsea in the first and second leg of Premiership matches. In the Champions League the first encounter (home to Arsenal) ended in a draw. Chelsea then stunned Arsenal with a late goal in the reverse fixture. )

Lets wait and watch !!
rey619
EPL:

With three games to spare, Jose Mourinho has led Chelsea to their first top-flight crown for 50 years in his maiden season in charge.

Chelsea clinched the Premiership title following their 2-0 victory at Bolton, thanks to a double by Frank Lampard.
