here r the pictures of nach baliye....hpe u like them.....
Jodi No.1
Poonam & Manish:
Poonam and Manish met on the sets of Kasautii Zindagi Kay where they played husband and wife. Married for 3 years, they have a son, Aryaveer who is a year old!
Poonam loves dancing and wanted to dance in a troupe but then, acting took preference. However, she was eager to work with Manish again on Nach Baliye and so now, they have been given that chance.
Jodi No.2
Manini & Mihir
They first met at an event for Tata Cancer Research Foundation and were married within 11 days of this meeting. They now have a beautiful daughter called Dianoor, aged 6.
Maninee has worked in shows such as Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, The Great Indian Comedy Show and Piya Ka Ghar while Mihir has acted in Sanjeevani and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. Both Mihir and Maninee, are very nervous about this new experience but if Maninee's spontaneity and Mihir's persistence are anything to go by, this couple will wow the audiences with their performances together!
Jodi No.3
Neeru and Amit:
Well, they met on the sets of Guns and Roses in Goa last year and fell in love. They are the only un-married couple on the show. They recently got engaged and plan to marry later this year! Amit has done a wide array of work on the small screen and Neeru has appeared in several music videos, serials and worked in a Punjabi film where she also choreographed the songs.
This is Amit's first ever dancing experience as he has always postponed learning it. Neeru however is an excellent dancer and has been dancing since the age of 7. Amit is learning and Neeru helps him learn with great patience. Now it is time to test her patience!
Jodi No.4
Archana & Parmeet:
They need no introduction. The sensuous film actress and strong-minded businessman met at a common friend's party 17 years ago. They took to each other immediately and have been going strong ever since. They have two sons, Aryamaan (9) and Ayushmann (6).
Dancing together for the first time, they are discovering a new dimension to the chemistry between them.
Jodi No.5
Shilpa & Apoorva:
The two met through their common friend, Rakshanda Khan and started dating in Dec 2003. They got married on June 28, 2004 and are total romantics, completely dependent on each other.
Apurva has most recently been working in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin and Shilpa has acted in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kkusum. Apurva is a non-dancer, who is scared as well as excited about this dancing challenge but they both feel that this will be a fantastic experience together.
Jodi No.6
Manasi and Rohit:
Rohit met Manasi 15 years ago when she was modeling and Rohit was assisting director Kunal Kapoor. Manasi started with modeling and then moved into theatre. Rohit has worked in several films and has done a variety of work on the small screen.
Both are Arians and extremely hotheaded, but have learnt to complement each other. They have a daughter Kiara, aged 3. Manasi with her "two left feet" and Rohit who "loves to dance but hates being choreographed" will try and set the stage alight with their performances…
Jodi No.7
Rajeshwari & Varun:
Having been in the same profession, Rajeshwari and Varun have known each other for quite some time. But then, they only got to know each other properly working in a film together in 2004!
Rajeshwari is a trained dancer and likes to dance. Varun, however has 2 left feet but he enjoys what he does. So when he is dancing, he looks nice because he is having fun!
Jodi No.8
Supriya & Sachin:
Sachin started his career at the age of 4 as a child actor, and has so far acted in over 200 films. He has also directed 16 films and TV serials in both Hindi and Marathi. Supriya started her career in 1984 and has won several awards for her outstanding performances in films.
Sachin and Supriya met on the sets of their first film together where Sachin was the director. By the end of the film, Sachin had proposed marriage and have now been happily married for 20 years. They have a 16 year old daughter called Shreya. Now we will get to see them share the limelight together on-screen...
Jodi No.9
Delnaaz and Rajiv:
The two met in 1993 but then, Delnaaz likes to call themselves "the youngest looking, oldest married couple" among their peers, meaning everybody who looks at them thinks that they have just got married!
Rajiv started his career in 1993 with Swabhimaan while Delnaaz has done a lot of theatre plays in English and Gujarati. She is currently doing a Hindi play called Paying Guest. Everything between them seems perfect, except for the fact that only she is crazy about dancing. But, through Nach Baliye, Delnaaz can go back to her passion and not be alone!
Jodi No.10
Sai and Shakti:
Sai and Shakti met at the Star Parivaar awards last year where they performed on stage together and discovered their chemistry. Their romance started then and now, they have been married for 7 months.
Both have worked in several television serials but in their respective on-screen avatars. Now comes the time to see them co-ordinate and rehearse dance moves as their actual selves. Sai has a great passion for dance and has been learning Kathak for the past 5 years. Let's see if she can bring Shakti up to speed, to dazzle the

The Hosts
Sangita Ghosh:
As a child Sangita was such an introvert that people did not even know she existed at times. She has studied at the Airport High School where she started participating in extracurricular activities like poetry recitation, elocution, dance, and dramatics, which really opened her up as a person.
Sangita bagged the role for a show called Hum Hindustani at the age of 10. She went on to do two NFBC telefilms, which won national awards. After that, there was no looking back and Sangita has been the face behind many popular shows such as Desh Mein Nikla Hoga Chand and Mehendi Teri Naam Ki.
Shabir Ahluwalia:
Shabir aspired to be a sportsman but besides sports his other interest lay in acting. He has acted in various plays in school and played a small role in a popular show called Hip Hip Hurray while in college.
He was asked by Balaji Telefilms to come and audition and got selected for his character as Rishi Grewal in Kahin To Hoga. Shows like Kya Hadsa Kya Haqiqat and Kkavyanjali followed. He is currently working in a new show titled Karmic Connection.

maliaka n saroj khan to judge Nach Baliye

Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan and hottie Malaika Arora Khan join director Farhan Akhtar as judges on the Star One dance show, Nach Baliye. For Khan, it is a case of channel-crossing; she was earlier seen as a judge in the Sony show, Dance Dance, along with Vaibhavi Merchant and Terence Lewis.
Nach Baliye, which airs on Star One from October 11, will have telly couples battling for the crown of best dancing duo.
The reality-based show will also look at the stars’ personal lives and dance sessions, as they prepare to be in step with each other. TV actors Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sangeeta Ghosh anchor Nach Baliye.
Dance chance
Saroj Khan
Says Malaika, “I am sure someone might just perform my Chaiyya chaiyya number, so I will be watching every step minutely. But besides the dance and the choreography, the show is also about the chemistry between the couples and their style. It’s the overall impact they make.”
She says she’s looking forward to a great time on the show. “I will be on the other side and have my own opinions about the contestants for a change, rather than others making a comment about me,” says Malaika, who terms herself a fairly good dancer. “Dancing is all about having fun.”
Celeb jig
The channel describes Nach Baliye as an “anokhi jung with dus mashoor jodiyan”. A choreographer is helping the couples through the paces as part of the rehearsals. Nach Baliya will air Tuesday to Thursday, at 9 pm. The first two days will provide an insight into the lives of celeb couples, how they live, who their families and friends are, and how they adapt to married life.
The Thursday episode will feature a dance performance, which will be judged by the jury and viewers. Besides dancing ability, compatibility, cooperation, popularity and coordination will also be judged.
This interactive reality show claims several firsts — the first time that celebs are competing against each other; the first time that celeb couples come together in a show and reveal their private lives.
Couples on Nach Baliye
1. Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi
2. Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani
3. Amit Sadh and Neeru Bajwa
4. Rajiv and Delnaaz Paul
5. Mihir and Maninee Misra
6. Rohit Roy and Manasi Joshi Roy
7. Manish Goyal and Poonam Narula
8. Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar
9. Varun Badola and Rajeshwari Sachdev

Illegal moves on Nach Baliye
Who's the winner?’ That question can cost a fortune or help rake in one, in the world of sports. A television show is getting ready to give tough competition to cricket now. Apparently, people within the television industry and outside it as well have started betting on their favourite Nach Baliye jodi. The dance competition on this Star One show actually kick-started yesterday but the aam juntas's curiosity about the final winners seems to have reached an interesting stage. “Nach Baliye is a unique concept. We get to see something new and that's a refreshing change from the reality shows that have been on air for some time now,” says Ajinkya Sood, a resident of Malad. A small time art director, Sood lives close to Delnaz and Rajiv Paul. “We stay around the same area as them. They come across as nice people but I have to watch them perform to actually bet on them," he says. According to him, the idea of actually betting on the winners of the dance competition was given to him by his wife. “Women these days are obsessed with TV and its stars. When she told me about it I thought it would be fun. Also it doesn't involve big money,” he adds. Although the man refuses to disclose the amount he is betting, he's placed his money on Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar as the favourite (that's the term the bookies use) pair. The buzz is that Star One too considers them as strong contenders.
Real estate agent Bishwadeep Dash admits that his friends and he are also betting on the real life couples participating in Nach Baliye. “I'm counting a lot on Rajeshwari Sachdev and Varun Badola. They have a certain magic that can probably make them the winners. My friends too agree with that,” he says. A Goregaon resident, Dash says that he enjoys the game of betting: “The risk factor is always exciting. It keeps you alert all the time. One wrong bhaw and you could lose a huge amount.” The man is also banking on Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani: “They look good together. We haven't ever seen them together, not even in pictures. There is newness to them and that's their USP. From the promos I can tell that they are good dancers and have a great chemistry. I hope they capitalise on it.”
Who'll make it and who'll lose what amount of money remains a question that will be answered only with time. Just like the participants, the bookies too are biting their nails in nervousness. “This is absolutely crazy,” says Star One. You bet!

Rohit and Manasi out of Nach Baliye
The first jodi to be voted out of Star One’s dance show, Nach Baliye, is made up of Rohit Roy and Manasi Joshi Roy, a source informs us. The couple will be eliminated in Thursday’s episode.
“It came as a huge surprise to everyone working on Nach Baliye. We expected Amit (Sadh) and Neeru (Bajwa) to be voted out, as they received the lowest scores from the judges”, says the source.
Here’s saluting their sporting spirit, especially Manasi’s, who we know spent hours rehearsing and making sure she gave the rest a tough competition.
Both actors were unavailable for comment.

In step with success!
I t may have been inspired by western formats like Strictly Come Dancing and
Dancing with the Stars, but Star One's Nach Baliye is clearly a winner, if the first three episodes are anything to go by.
Star One's 10 week odyssey into finding the best dancing couple among television celebs kicked off this week with two episodes detailing their initial reservations and practice sessions and the third, a whopper two hour marathon that had viewers begging for more.
All the ingredients for a hit TV series are in place.
Ten good looking pairs already well known through TV serials and shows, an almost palpable energy level in the dances, and a level of sincerity in the competing teams.
Aggressive judges like Saroj Khan add to the spice of the show.
While the first two episodes did tend to drag a bit, with the pairs giggling about their 'two left feet' and collapsing with exhaustion after bouts of practice, the third 'performance' episode left viewers tingling with delight. One can only presume 'practice and rehearsal' episodes next week will be a bit more original than just close shots of the couples at home, coaxing each other to give off their best.
On the other hand, co hosts Shabir and Sangita tended to give a feel of being a trifle out of place as they pontificated about the couples' chances from the studio while the competitors sweated it out elsewhere, but seemed to begin gelling when they hosted the performance rounds. Their enthusiasm does seem a bit exaggerated at times, and one can only hope the compering becomes more relaxed than frenetic as the pace picks up with the eliminations.
One of the obvious by products of a reality dance competition between celebs is the ringside view into their personal lives that it offers. It's endearing to watch Archana and Parmeet's sons talk about their
promised 'trip abroad' if mamma-papa win the contest and enjoyable to see Delnaz banter about praying for 'another husband who can dance better' just before she puts on her dancing shoes. Wathcing Mihir Misra wear a orthopaedic belt for his aching back and cringe in pain from the dance moves gives an obvious voyeuristic pleasure to viewers, and the show's directors admirably capitalise on these moments.
While the judges are a judicious combination of astuteness and glamour, the real heroes of the show are the choreographers who have made these obvious 'non-dancers' do more than just shake their limbs. Hats off to these men!
All in all, there is finally a show that can be tolerated for two hours...and we are hoping it stays that way throughout the 10 weeks it's on air!

Desperate couples...
Nach Baliye pairs are frenziedly seeking help from family, friends and acquaintances to ensure that they don't get voted out of the show in its second week. We go behind the scenes to find out
1. SAI AND SHAKTI ANAND
Between the two, it's Shakti who is frantic about winning. He conveys his message to people in a rather interesting manner. His discussions about his rehearsals don't seem to end and he has a subtle way of dropping hints. His better-half Sai, on the other hand, is happy that she is dancing with her husband and doesn’t ask for more. As far she is concerned, results be damned!
2. ARCHANA AND PARMEET SETHI
The duo set the stage afire. They were very good at their act considering they were not too ambitious. Originally from the film industry, both Archana and Parmeet find it too low to beg for votes. They believe that the best couple will win. why panic?
3. NEERU AND AMIT SADH
They have admitted to the world that it was their over confidence that led to their poor performance. Amit's messages to his folks said that the duo won't disappoint anymore. 'Give us one more chance by voting for us,' seems to be their message to the aam junta.
4. DELNAZ AND RAJIV PAUL
These two are not too confident of their performance as they have been sending messages to every Tom, Dick and Harry they know, asking them to vote for them. There’s more...it's not one vote that they are trying to collect. Rajiv has been continuously messaging people, requesting them to give them as many votes as they can.
5. MANASI AND ROHIT ROY
Their dancing act was a dampener. From what we hear, Rohit has been repeatedly giving instructions to his family to vote for him not because he wants to win the competition, but because he doesn't want to be the first of the ten couples to be chucked out.
6. RAJESHWARI ADN VARUN BADOLA
They were the surprise package of the show. Varun seemed to be really excited about being applauded for his jig by the judges. After all, not many television actors are good dancers. He has been sending thank you messages to his well wishers ever since his performance.
7. SHILPA AND APOORVA AGNIHOTRI
The duo has, surprisingly kept a low profile. No publicity or drama seems to be their mantra. They continue doing their bit irrespective of the reactions they've evoked. Though the two did a decent job, they certainly didn't go around asking people to vote for them.
8. MANINI AND MIHIR MISHRA
Hardly had the slit in her ear lobe healed, Manini was back on stage gyrating alongside her husband. Mihir (with his aching back that too).
They got through to the first round but now one has heard that Mihir, who has two left feet, is rehearsing day and night to get his moves right.
9. SUPRIYA AND SACHIN PILGAONKAR
Absolutely flawless! They were terrific together. Neither of the two is interested in winning, but they would rather enjoy the contest. The two celebrated their first victory with their daughter at a suburban cafe. One couldn't help notice them smile when onlookers and passers by stopped to compliment them.

Judge me not: Saroj Khan on Nach Baliye
Judge Saroj Khan tells hitList about the couples she thinks will make it to the top five…
My brief as a judge on Star One’s Nach Baliye was very simple: to judge, not just the actors, but also the choreographers. I was also told to keep in mind that the contestants were actors, not dancers.
Gruelling month-long rehearsals have made them dance like pros! I was asked to look at some of their rehearsals but didn’t, because I didn’t want to form an opinion. As it is, I’ve seen most of them perform for the first time on the sets – and they’re even better than I thought they would be!
Winning move
Most of us think a great song does the trick. That’s not true — all songs are good, provided the choreographer knows what to do with them. A choreographer can’t just copy movements from the actual song; that would be just like watching the film.
Coach ka jadoo
If a couple loses, it’s because the choreographer hasn’t hidden their flaws well or hasn’t used movements to highlight their plusses.
For instance, Sachin and Supriya’s choreographers didn’t just pick up the steps from Let’s do balle Balle, in Fida — they got them to jig in a manner that would suit their age and bodies, showcasing their awesome chemistry and capabilities as dancers.
Even Shilpa and Apoorva’s choreographer got them to strut their stuff in a way that you would never guess Shilpa has a bad back! And Parmeet and Archana’s choreographers tapped into their fun streak and madness.
Playing fair
We don’t interact with the couples, except while judging with them. A lot of them cried, were distressed and got worked up after their scores were revealed. But we, as judges, have to be frank with our comments and opinions. If Sai and Shakti can chill and dance, and Neeru and Amit can crystalise their chemistry in their moves, it would help them win over the audience votes and us too.
Saroj’s top five
I don’t really have any favourites on the show. But there are couples I feel will make the final five: Sachin and Supriya, Shilpa and Apoorva, Parmeet and Archana, Rajeshwari and Varun, and Rajiv and Delnaaz — they can dance, have great chemistry and their choreographers have done a great job so far.
Watch them sizzle tonight
The contestants have gotten better with just one episode. If you tune into tonight’s 9 pm episode, you can see the improvement almost immediately. One doesn’t really need to shake and shimmy to numbers like these. It’s all about acting, cavorting and sizzling with the song. Which is why a theme like this is perfectly timed to get rid of their nervousness and anxiety.
Chill, chill, chill
Out of the all the romantic numbers I have done, Aaj Kal Hai Intezaar in Sailaab, picturised on Madhuri Dixit, was an unexpected commercial and critical hit. Let’s see if any of them chose this song to dance on…. I will be watching them closely. With each theme round, the fight is going to get tougher, and I want to wish all participants best of luck!

Aa dekhen zara, kis mein kitna hai dum....
Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh
Parmeet Sethi: I am not comparing myself to Javed Jaffrey. But in this competition, I am better than the rest.
Archana Puran Singh: Rate myself on dancing? After Nach Baliye, I am ten on ten.
Our chances of winning: Extremely high.
Our fav couple to win: If not us, then nobody!
Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar
Sachin Pilgaonkar: I think I am good, but I still practice very hard.
Supriya Pilgaonkar: I am not a natural dancer. I take at least twenty minutes to get it right. But thereafter, I give the right expressions.
Our chances of winning: Very good, but the couples with less points are surely going to pull up their socks from here on.
Our fav couple to win: Sachin-Supriya.
Shakti Anand and Sai Deodhar
Shakti Anand: I am a hard-working dancer.
Sai Deodhar: I think I am a very confident and chilled-out dancer.
Our chances of winning: We really haven’t thought about what our chances are, but we want to win, come what may.
Our fav couple to win: Rajeev Paul and Delnaz.
Amit Sadh and Neeru Bajwa
Amit Sadh: I am a bad dancer but my flaws get masked, because I am dancing with one of the most graceful dancers, my to-be wife, Neeru.
Neeru Bajwa: I have been dancing since the age of seven but still I wouldn’t rate myself as a great dancer.
Our chances of winning: Currently, we are at the deep end. It’s dicey.
Our fav couple to win: Varun Badola and Rajeshwari.
Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani
Apoorva Agnihotri: I am not a naturally great dancer. I need to rehearse, and then I am a treat to watch.
Shilpa Saklani: I need to rehearse, and then I am bearable.
Our chances of winning: Bleak.
Our fav couple to win: Sachin and Supriya
Manish Goyal and Poonam Narula
Manish Goyal: I need to work hard on my dancing but I know that once I set my mind to it, I will deliver.
Poonam Narula: I think I give good expressions, which, like Sarojji (Khan) says, are very important when you are dancing.
Our chances of winning: Our chances are 50-50. It can go either way.
Our fav couple to win: No guesses. Rohit and Manasi’s elimination has shocked everybody.
Varun Badola and Rajeshwari
Varun Badola: Rajeshwari ko nachaya to kaunsi badi baat hai, mujhe nacha do toh koi baat hogi.
Rajeshwari: I think I am a very good dancer.
Our chances of winning: As good as anybody else’s
Our fav couple to win: Tough question!
Rajeev Paul and Delnaz Paul
Rajeev Paul: I was a zero when I started, but today I am tough competition to everyone.
Delnaz Paul: Considering my weight, I have surprised people. I think that I have a good sense of rhythm.
Our chances of winning: Can’t say. It will keep varying after every round.
Our fav couple to win: We have three favourites. Sachin-Supriya or Apoorva-Shilpa and Varun-Rajeshwari. It’s difficult to zero down on one.
Mihir Misra and Maninee De
Mihir Misra: I don’t know where to begin to rate myself as a dancer, but I am trying my best.
Maninee De: That’s a difficult question. I can’t say.
Our chances of winning: We can’t say.
Our fav couple to win: It would be unfair to take just one name.
